Beauty of Clouds

Are you adventurous and nature lover? Or you just want to freshen up yourself from a very busy life in the city? Well, I could recommend a good place for you to freshen up while looking at a calming scenario of the whole city.

Cloud 9 Sports and Leisure Club in Antipolo is one of the most popular destinations in Antipolo. It is one of an ideal venue for various occasions. The place is equipped with an affordable day tour package where you’ll just spend 70 pesos for you to enjoy the day tour package that includes a short stroll in the art gallery and unforgettable bridge crossing. The fee will let you experience the beauty of the city, test your braveness by crossing their bridge. It was a nerve wracking experience for me. My legs were shaking as I take every step specially when the bridge starts to slowly unite with the rhythm of the wind. It was a terrifying experience, but everything had been paid by the breathtaking view. The experience is not yet done from there, as I go down to the view deck, artistically design floors welcomed me, random portraits will also captivate your attention. As you go down a tunnel like exit called 7th heaven will capture your attention. It is more like a hanging garden of colorful ornamental flowers.

Visiting Cloud 9, Antipolo truly freshen up my mood and helped me face my way back to Manila. I truly recommend you to make some time and visit Cloud 9, Antipolo and explore more great places that waits for your discovery.

Tinch of Maturity

Every child is equipped with memories that they will never forget. Some may reminisce the moments where they enjoy and satisfy their need for playing.

When I was still a child almost everyone calls me “Negra” that I’m ugly and that I’m not good at anything. I remember how I rush towards my grandmother and report everything to her about how other people call me and the way they insult me. With that view of people around me, I started to build walls within myself and I try my very best to do everything I can do. There are moments where I want to be with myself only and move away from people to focus and reflect about myself.

It might be a shallow reason, but for me that experience helped me to become more open about other people’s view and opinion. That experience enables me to change and create a much better version of myself.

As I grow up I realized that a child’s memory might fade, but the lesson within it will never be.

Team that Works!

In life teamwork plays an important role, it makes tasks much easier, and a key to reach achievements. Helen Keller once said “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”

“A team that contributes to a goal finishes the goal.”

There are parts of my life where I only trust myself and don’t depend on others, but I know that I need a team where I could lean on. I remember that moment when our strand decided to participate in a contest for the Filipino Month. It is indeed an immediate decision because all of us decided not to join the said event, but suddenly the wind changed its way. Too urgent that it is only two days left before the competition starts. Participants from our class gathered to rehearse for the interpretative dance and not enough time to practice everything. I remember how we rush our practice sessions every end of classes and go straight to Project 6, Tennis Court where all of us come back home late at night. With the hard work that everyone of us poured just for the competition, we are blessed to won second place. Everyone is rejoicing because of the unexpected recognition that we were able to receive. In that moment I truly realized the value of teamwork that anything will be achieve easily if you work as a team.

Treasured Friendship

It was September 15 of 2018, everybody in the hotel are so busy preparing. The staffs are rushing to the corridors of the simple but elegant room in Mandaluyong. I was with my bestfriends that time, busy about browsing our possible look for our friend’s big event, checking our gowns, footwear, styles, and stuffs. We can all feel the tension as the clock in our room . We are all nervous because the heavy rain is not stopping because of the typhoon Ompong.

As the clock strikes and go near by 5 pm, me and a close friend of mine are both patiently waiting for our makeup artist to arrive and at exactly 5:15 pm she already arrived. It takes two hours for her to finish our hair styles and make-up. As soon as she finishes we proceed to the venue of the debut, while we are in the vehicle I saw how devastated the road was. It is filled with trash around the vicinity, water that overflows the drainage, heavy rain that slaps the trees and the impact of the water together with the wind.

As soon as we entered the doors of the event hall the lights and elegant but lively music welcomed us and we saw our dearest friends on the first table.
It was 8:00 in the evening when the party started leaded by the event’s organizer followed by a good and touching speech of her parents. My most awaited part of the party has come the grand entrance of the debutante as she enter with her elegant flower themed ball gown, I felt emotional while she takes her walk to her sofa. The party is truly a memorable one that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. The program is so rich with activities, presentations, games, and heart-melting messages from everyone who attended the party.

We almost forget about the time because of enjoyment and happiness that filled our day. By 3 am we all decided to go back to our room and pack our things back home. Ironic it is that we didn’t manage to change our clothes and decided to go home with our heels on and gowns. We all rode the jeepney with our stuffs and formal wear so that we will be able to go home. When the jeepney reached our destination, we are all forced to walk for us to reach our respective homes. It is a bit of a scary and fun experience because of what happened to each one of us. And as soon everyone safely arrived at each other’s respective homes we did our evening—no — morning rituals and decided to call the day an off.

With my experience I truly realized how valuable my friends are to me, that distance didn’t hinder me to be with them and spend the most memorable part of my friend’s life. They truly certify the saying that “Old friends won’t just come and go, but they’ll be washed away by the current called time and increase their value as the modern diamond of life.”

The Pen

First day of classes, year 2012 it was one of my most unforgettable experience and such an amazing experience. The story how I met my friend and how we get to know each other. Ironic it is that a simple pen wrote the story of our friendship.

I’m sitting next to her during the first day of classes to my surprise my pencil case is filled with pens, but none of it works so I have to borrow one of her pens became the only pen that is left for me is a red pen that actually don’t work properly. It is indeed a hot seat for me because I really have to fill up my application form. And that’s how our friendship started with just a single pen, we continue to count more days of a happy friendship. I haven’t just met Patrisha but I met my most outstanding friends that always guide each one of us, assist one another and stay for the rest of our life.

With the unexpected way of how I met my friends I realized that no one could ever be like them, but I know there are people whom I could be friends too.

The Honorable Nurse of Himagsikan

Melchora De Ramos Aquino is known as “Tandang Sora” or “Chorang” was born at Bario of Banlat, Caloocan (which is currently Banlat, Quezon City) on January 6, 1812. She was 84 years old when she became involved with the Philippine revolution, and because of her age, she was known as the “Grand Woman of the revolution” and the “Mother of Balintawak” for her exceptional contributions. She attended the revolutionary men of Andres Bonifacio by curing wounds revolutionary men, providing food for them to eat, shelter where they could stay.

Her love for the country led her be imprisoned in Bilibid prison where she was interrogated and tortured to reveal the hiding place of the revolutionary leaders. She was exiled on the small island of Guam, along with hundred Filipinos considered by the Spanish authorities dangerous.

Despite of her advanced age, she was able to spent her last years together with one of her daughters and some grandchildren.

A Vacation worth Reminiscing

The month of December is such a busy month where roads are filled with lights, not just traffic lights and lights from vehicles roaring the streets, but with colorful star-like lights coming from the decorations of every establishment. Malls are filled with people the arcades are filled with children’s laughter, restaurants and fast-food chains filled with stories of families cherishing each other’s company. All of these are typical scenes we could encounter this Christmas season that makes a typical Filipino Christmas vacation extra special and awesome.

My Christmas vacation started on the 15th day of December where together with some of my friends decided to go to Cloud 9 Antipolo, so from Quezon City we travelled to Antipolo through commuting to catch the 360° view of Metro Manila. The view is totally beautiful, but before we were able to enjoy the scenery we first have to cross a hanging bridge which makes our experience to be memorable because as the wind blows the bridge will shake too especially to a person like me who is afraid of heights. I remember how my tears are slowly falling as I reach the top, after approximately 20 minutes we were able to reach the top with our legs shaking and as soon as I calmed myself, we together enjoyed the beautiful view of the whole city.

After the unforgettable experience I had with my friends at Antipolo, the very next Sunday afternoon our parish community Corinthian Youth Movement (CYM) at San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish (SNDTP) had a Coachella themed Christmas party named “Corechella” where it lasted for five hours of happiness, enjoyment, excitement and an unforgettable experience. It is indeed a wonderful experience to be part of CYM.

Ever since I could remember, I have spent Christmas at our house in Mandaluyong City, but this year was different because it will be our first time to celebrate Christmas at my late grandmother’s house, a house which is full of childhood memories, comfort, warmth, enjoyment, sadness and happiness. I have always been looking forward celebrating Christmas with my cousins in my mother’s side just enjoying several moments in time, these moments have left unmeasurable memories, making Christmas a holiday that is special to me and my family. It is a time for my family to get together, share stories, and enjoy our moments together. One of the highlights of my vacation is Simbang Gabi, together with my Mom we both wake up in the morning to catch up the first evening mass of Simbang Gabi and successfully after nine nights of hard-work and battling over sleepiness, waking up very early by 2:00 in the morning we were able to complete the Simbang Gabi.

The most awaited day of the has come 24th day of December where everyone in our house is busy preparing for food that we will be sharing for Noche Buena, together with my cousins we check the decorations if all of it are in good condition. After all of the preparation are all set we all decided to take some rest because of a very tiring day that we had. Ironic it is that when the clock strike at 12 midnight we are all in a deep sleep and we weren’t able to share our Noche Buena together, as the rooster cried in the morning our family shared the food we all prepared for Noche Buena. Eating our Noche Buena in the morning made my vacation unforgettable.

As the calendar move forward and New Year’s Eve strike, my Mom planned to visit our relatives in Mandaluyong and we will spend the first day of January there, we stayed at our Aunt’s house, where we helped them prepare good food to offer to some of our visitors. I enjoyed the company of my nephews, we played and enjoy and wait till the clock strike at midnight. We welcomed the year with happiness and enjoyment, of course, sharing the food we prepared won’t be lost. In the afternoon we were able to go home and my cousin decided to take her baby for a walk at Quezon City Memorial Circle (QCMC) it is such a tiring day because of playing but indeed it is enjoying. The last day of my vacation is indeed a wonderful experience I visited QCMC once again to watch the dancing fountain together with a good friend of mine together we spend some time refreshing ourselves with our favorite milk tea and frappe. My Christmas vacation is truly an unforgettable and a worth of memories to be cherished.
